Bp Oulton announces Bp Cliff cleared of allegations

Following the election of Bishop William Cliff on April 29th to serve as the 13th bishop of our diocese, an allegation against Bishop Cliff was received by our Metropolitan Archbishop Anne Germond. The result of that allegation paused the concurrence process and necessitated the commencement of a formal investigative process undertaken at the Provincial level. Bishop Cliff was placed on an administrative suspension, known as an inhibition, a normal step in such circumstances pending the outcome of an investigation.

Gender Transition Liturgies approved

At its General Synod held in Calgary, Alberta, on June 30, the Anglican Church of Canada authorized “Pastoral Liturgies for Journeys of Gender Transition and Affirmation” but with the amendment “where authorized by the ordinary.”

New bishop-elect inhibited 

ONLY THREE DAYS after being elected as the next bishop of the Diocese of Ontario, William Cliff, currently the bishop of Brandon, has been inhibited in both the Ecclesiastical Province of Ontario by Metropolitan Anne Germond and in his home Province of Rupertsland by Archbishop Greg Kerr-Wilson.
