Book Review: The Prodigal God

Several years ago a friend insisted that I listen to a sermon tape. It was Tim Keller’s sermon "The Prodigal Sons," and from that time on I was hooked on Keller’s ministry. The sermon has become a book with the unsettling title The Prodigal God.

Editorial: Shifting Priorities

By no means is it bad or wrong for us to desire to do good works out of love for God and neighbour, but we mustn’t confuse or eclipse the singular mission of the Church, which is to be a witness of Jesus Christ in preaching the Gospel, lest we allow lesser priorities to redefine our purpose in the world.

As one theologian said, "The modern west has made a science out of trying to feed the soul with the bread of this world, and they’ve done a remarkable job at it!"

R.I.P.: Barbara Helen Pell (1945-2009) 

Barbara Pell (1945-2009). Photo: TWUOne of the most highly respected Christian scholars of Canadian literature has died. Dr. Barbara Pell, a Professor of English at Trinity Western University in Langley B.C., died on March 9th after a long battle with cancer. She was 63.
