Study: Teen Sexual Decisions & Role of Parents

A new study by the Institute of Marriage and Family Canada (IMFC) suggests that parental influence over teenage sexual behaviour begins during childhood, and that parental attitudes and behaviours significantly influence sexual choices in the teen years.

Three bishops consecrated at Network Synod

Photo: Sue CarelessIN 1978 TREVOR WALTERS was ordained 'a deacon in the Church of God" in magnificent Salisbury Cathedral in England. A year later Charlie Masters was ordained a priest in Christ Church cathedral in Hamilton. In 1985, Stephen Leung was ordained a priest in St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Hong Kong, the oldest Anglican church in the Far East. On Nov. 13th all three were consecrated as "bishops in the Church of God" in a borrowed facility, a modern community church set amidst southern Ontario vineyards in rural St. Catharines. Without any benefit of stained glass or (neo)gothic architecture, the service was still one of solemn beauty and great power.

Court to rule on polygamy law

British Columbia Attorney General Michael de Jong announced on Oct. 22 that he will be asking the B.C. Supreme Court to decide on the constitutionality of Canada’s law against polygamy.
